There's been a drastic increase in vaping among teens, so News 12 went out with Nassau County police to find out why.
While store owners are supposed to ask for proper Identification, investigators say some vape shop owners on Long Island don't ask for ID.
At Vape Flow in Merrick, the clerk behind the counter sold a Juul pod to two 19-year-old girls that Nassau police sent into the store while News 12 cameras were rolling.

Once the sale went through, News 12 asked the clerk what happened since he isn't supposed to sell to underage kids.
"This time it slipped my mind, I should have asked," said Ashton Corbi.
In Wantagh, an employee at Twisted Glass Smoke Shop also sold a Juul pod to the underage girls.
And at Convenience Smoke Shop in Roosevelt, the girls were also able to buy a Juul pod with no ID.
NY raised the age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21 in April of this year, but it seems raising the age isn't enough, especially as e-cigarette use among teens skyrockets

And that's why Nassau County police are doing their part.
"Over 50 percent of our middle school kids are vaping today - 50 percent," said Cmsr. Patrick Ryder.
The vape shops that sold to the underage girls could be fined up to $1,500. If there are several violations, a store could lose its license to operate.
