Dozens of firefighters took part in a special bike ride Sunday in a tribute to the heroes of 9/11.
The FDNY 343 Ride honors and remembers the 343 FDNY members who died during the attacks.
The group started their 105 mile journey at the Freedom Tower Sunday morning, making about five stops on their way to the East End. One of those stops was at the West Babylon Fire Department. The ride ended at Pindar Vineyards.
Proceeds from the ride go directly to support injured veterans who have served in the armed forces.
The ride has raised $1.2 million in the nine years it's been running. Some of the proceeds will help pay for all-terrain wheelchairs, service dogs and medical bills for soldiers returning home.
