A Garden City mom is pleading for the return of her baby's ashes.
Monique Hartley-Brown says the urn containing the ashes of her first son was stolen from her home last month.
Surveillance video captured two people attempting to get through her back door, then successfully getting in through the back window.
She says her family was on vacation when the home was ransacked.
Hartley-Brown says other items were stolen, but the urn's loss is devastating since it is irreplaceable.
"Of all the things that were gone, that was the worst, because that was our first son," she said.
She says her family decided to cremate him when they lost him on Christmas Day 10 years ago.
Her story and the surveillance video were shared by thousands of people on Facebook.
She says she hopes someone will recognize the suspects and she will be able to get her child’s urn back.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to Call Garden City police at 516-465-4100.
