A 15-year-old Lindenhurst teen spent part of his summer climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for a good cause.

Adrian Bek reached the summit Aug. 15 in Tanzania. In the process, he and his family raised $5,000 in donations and brought 800 pounds of clothing for an orphanage nearby the famed mountain.

Adrian and his family spent an entire year preparing for the climb as well as holding fundraisers and collecting donations.

The Lindenhurst High School teen called the experience "life changing."
