‘The parking, the noise.’ Northport winery neighbors complain about traffic congestion

Some people who live near a Northport winery say the winery is causing traffic congestion.

Del Vino Vineyards, on Norwood Road in Northport, has 120 parking spots and valet parking. But neighbors say that the bustling winery gets so busy on weekends that some customers park in the neighborhood.

“The parking, the noise, this is secondhand, but I’ve heard people urinated at night, there's noises coming out here, car alarms going off,” says Mary Lou Glazer, of Northport. “It's a real problem for the neighborhood, it’s a quiet neighborhood.”

The owners of the vineyard told Newsday they're working with the town to fix the problem.

In the meantime, the Town of Huntington is set to hold a public hearing to discuss the parking issues on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
