Police: Body of man found floating in water off Massapequa

A man was found dead in waters off Massapequa Sunday night, police say.

Detectives say the unidentified man was seen floating in the water about half a mile south of John Burns Park at around 5:30 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they do not believe the man’s death was criminal.

The incident is still under investigation.
