Nine new sex abuse lawsuits filed against Boy Scouts of America

Nine new lawsuits were filed against the Boy Scouts of America Tuesday on Long Island and in the city by men who say they were molested as children.
The men are accusing the Boy Scouts of America of failing to protect children from adult scout leaders.
The cases are part of hundreds of lawsuits filed since last week, after a one-year window opened for civil lawsuits that had been barred under the state's old statute of limitations.

One of the suits demands the release of internal Boy Scout records on abuse.

The Scouts did not immediately comment on the new suits, but in a statement earlier this month, it said the organization is outraged by the allegations of abuse and apologizes to anyone who was harmed.
