A 72-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Elmont Monday night.

Detectives say the man was trying to cross Linden Boulevard at 239th Street just after 9 p.m. when he was hit.

The victim, who hasn't been identified by officials, suffered multiple injuries and is listed in critical but stable condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and is not facing charges.
