Police: Overnight luxury car thefts on the rise in Bridgehamton, Westhampton

Southampton Town detectives say they are seeing an uptick in luxury car thefts.

Police: Overnight luxury car thefts on the rise in Bridgehamton, Westhampton
Southampton Town detectives say they are seeing an uptick in luxury car thefts.
They say they've seen a rise in overnight car thefts over the last few months between Bridgehampton and Westhampton.
The thieves seem to be targeting Mercedes and Range Rover models.
Southampton Town police are urging residents to take extra precautions, including:
  • Lock car doors and set the alarm
  • Park near motion detectors, or surveillance cameras
  • Park in a locked garage
  • Remove all key fobs and valuables
