Town of Hempstead awarded $192K rebate check after completion of green project

Posted: Updated:

The Town of Hempstead accepted a $192,000 rebate check from PSEG Long Island Thursday.

The rebate comes after the completion of an energy efficiency project that replaced thousands of LED lights at town parks.

Officials say the move will not only save energy, but save taxpayers near $200,000 per year.

They say the rebate funds will be used for future green initiatives.
