Police: Shots fired in North Bellport; no injuries reported

Suffolk police are investigating an incident in which gunshots were fired in North Bellport Thursday night.

They say they found several shell casings at Taylor and Brookhaven avenues after reports of shots fired.

News 12 is told a 911 caller reported people fighting in the street at the intersection and shots were fired shortly before 9 p.m.

Officers say when they got there, there were no people on the scene. No injuries have been reported.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
