Police: Man shoots 24-year-old 3 times in Mastic Beach

Suffolk County police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Mastic Beach early Thursday morning.

Police say two men were in front of a residence located on Daisy Drive when they became involved in a verbal dispute at approximately 12:20 a.m.

They say one of the men allegedly drew a handgun and shot the other man three times in the right leg and foot before fleeing the scene.

The 24-year-old victim was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
