A group of West Islip teenagers is working to make sure people around the world have access to clean water.
The organization, made up of high school students, has been raising funds since 2012 to build freshwater wells in places like Central America, Africa and India.
“It’s inspiring to know that right in your backyard, you have teenagers who are willing to help people all across the globe, people that they don't even know,” says Assemblyman Michael LiPetri, of Massapequa.
The group hopes to reach its goal of raising $200,000.
