A Freeport man is facing charges after police say they raided his home and found a stash of drugs and weapons, including assault rifles.
Police say 33-year-old Brian Crook had a loaded .45 caliber pistol on him when police showed up at his home on Guy Lombardo Avenue with a search warrant Thursday. They say they also found cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with illegal handguns, assault rifles, high-capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
State police tell News 12 that they’ve been conducting an ongoing, 10-month investigation into cocaine trafficking in the Freeport area. Investigators say they entered Crook's home to collect evidence.
Investigators say Crook sold more than a half an ounce of cocaine to an undercover officer back in April. Crook was also convicted of having stolen property in 2003.
Police say Crook was arrested and is now charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. His bail was set at $200,000.
