Police say a 79-year-old woman was killed in a crash Thursday on Route 25A in Smithtown.
Police say Patricia Schmidt may have suffered a medical problem while at the wheel.
Detectives tell News 12 that Schmidt was making a right turn out of the parking lot of Stop & Shop when she veered off the road and slid into the woods.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
