The MTA is reportedly looking to make big changes to LIRR union contracts.
Newsday says some of the possibilities include doing away with certain double-time pay, and placing new restrictions on sick leave.
The unions are seeking 5% annual raises for the next three years. Their most recent contract has been up for renewal since April.
According to Newsday, it is unlikely talks will start anytime soon.
