Middle school students honored for finding environmental solutions

Some young environmentalists were honored Wednesday for finding solutions on how to maintain Long Island's water supply.
The students pitched ideas as they accepted their environmental achievement award for winning the Middle School Kids Go to College contest.
They researched things like water on Mars, ammonia in Long Island's water supply and talked about the impact of keeping septic tanks clean.
The middle school students' projects were selected from 100 students back in May.
