Firefighters battled a fire in a garbage truck in Medford around 1 a.m., officials say.

It happened at the corner of Route 112 and Long Island Avenue.

News 12 Long Island is told that the truck was being towed at the time, but it's still not clear how it caught fire.

No injuries have been reported.
