A petition to change the date of Halloween from Oct. 31 to the last Saturday of the month is gaining traction with over 100,000 signatures.
As News 12 Long Island previously reported, the petition was posted on Change.org by the nonprofit Halloween & Costume Association, whose mission is to “promote and grow the safe celebration of Halloween and year-round costumed events throughout North America.”
The nonprofit behind the petition claims the move would make the holiday safer, longer and stress-free.
Some parents agree, arguing that it's tough to get kids to bed when Halloween falls on a school night.
