Fire officials: Three-alarm fire damages Port Washington homes

A three-alarm fire spread to multiple homes in Port Washington Friday evening.
Officials say they received a call about the fire that broke out on New Street at around 7 p.m.
Port Washington's fire chief told News 12 that there was a person trapped inside one of the homes. He said a neighbor next door was able to throw a ladder up and get the victim and his dog out from the second floor.
The fire chief says the fire then spread to a second home. He says the first home that originally caught fire has been destroyed, but that the second home was not.
Multiple departments responded including Manhasset, Port Washington, Roslyn, Williston Park and Glenwood.
