Police: 2 dead in separate fatal accidents in Suffolk

EAST FARMINGDALE -

Two individuals were killed Monday night in separate accidents just minutes apart in Suffolk.

The first happened at 10:45 p.m.

Police were called to the southbound lanes of Route 110 at Conklin Street in East Farmingdale.

They say Fredy Leonel Maldonado was trying to cross Route 110 when he was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The 42-year-old West Babylon man was rushed to the hospital where he died.

The driver who hit him stayed at the scene and is not facing any charges.

About five minutes later, a Medford man was hit while crossing Route 112 near Jamaica Avenue in Medford.

Police confirm Lopez Paucar was hit by a Ford Focus and died at the hospital.
