Center Moriches man gets 25 years to life for fatally stabbing his mother

A Center Moriches man was sentenced to 25 years to life in the stabbing death of his mother.
Christopher Storm Harrison, 26, is accused of stabbing his mother, Joyce Skarka, inside their Union Avenue home in November of 2017.
Prosecutors say Skarka had two large incisions across her neck. They say they believe the 53-year-old was killed in the kitchen, and that Harrison then dragged her body into the bathroom. Her body was found in a bathtub doused in gasoline.
News 12 is told that Harrison turned himself in to police and said, “I had a fight with my mother and she’s dead.”
It was not clear what the fight was about, though prosecutors say he did quit his job at Home Goods earlier in the day.
