Some people in Bridgeport are dealing with several cases of bedbugs on the city's East Side.

Jessica Gonzalez says she and her two sons have received medical treatment for their bedbug bites.

She says they are fed up with the situation in their multifamily house on East Main Street.

Gonzalez is one of many renters calling for a citizen's task force to protect tenants from landlords who fail to eradicate bedbugs despite repeated warnings.

Mayor Joe Ganim says he's ordered the Bridgeport Health Department to investigate.
