Five homeless veterans received a proper burial on Thursday.
World War II veterans Eunice Greenspon, Franklyn Lansner and Richard Schwarzchild, and Korean War veterans Irving Beiser and Donald Solar were laid to rest.
Some of the remains had been held at local hospitals for the past three years. That's when the several organizations say they stepped in to ensure that these veterans received a dignified military funeral service.
More than 200 people attended the service.
Dignity Memorial Veterans Burial Program partnered with Missing in America and the Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes to make these burials possible.
They say they've done about 45 of these funerals over the last couple of years
