A Staten Island man is accused of fatally shooting a Huntington man in an Old Bethpage park.
According to police, Brandon Torres, 22, along with Stefon Pierre, 22, and three others conspired to rob an alleged marijuana dealer they contacted on SnapChat at Haypath Park Saturday night.
Detectives say when Torres got to the park, he pulled out a gun to rob Dimitri Filacouris for a pound of marijuana. Police say Pierre started to approach, and Torres turned and shot him, not realizing who he was shooting.
Police have identified the other three suspects as Charles Spinella, Patricia Quilliam and Kion Carter.
Pierre's family says he didn't know anything about the robbery plot when Carter picked him up from his home.
Torres was charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held without bail.
