Police say a woman drowned off Fire Island during Sunday’s violent storms that tore across Long Island.
Investigators say they responded to the scene at Seaview Marina after someone called 911 to report a body floating in the water.  According to police, a paddleboarder kept the body afloat until investigators could retrieve the woman.
The woman was taken to marine bureau headquarters at Timber Point where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators have not yet released her identity. They believe she drowned in rough waters from the storm.
