Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro plans to meet with state Department of Transportation officials regarding the confusion surrounding a stretch of road that’s littered with potholes.
The response comes a day after News 12 aired a story about a Suffolk woman’s effort to recoup money spent to fix her car when it was damaged by a pothole.
News 12 reported that Jillian McMahon has been in an ongoing battle between the DOT and the Town of Brookhaven's Highway Department. She wants the responsible municipality to pay the $300 it costs to replace her tire, however, both have sent letters saying it's not their pothole.
To prove its point, Brookhaven sent News 12 a map that showed it was a town road and another map that shows Brookhaven is not responsible.
Losquadro plans to meet with state DOT officials and get to the bottom of the map mystery.
“If it does turn out to be our problem, we will get it taken care of this year,” he told News 12.
