Wyandanch school district to get state oversight monitor

Wyandanch Union Free School District is getting a state oversight monitor.

News 12 previously reported that the school board there approved a contingency budget Monday night, which calls for drastic cuts.

It came after residents twice voted down budget proposals.

State lawmakers have now announced the passage of legislation establishing a fiscal monitor to oversee the Wyandanch district.
