Wake held for high school senior who died of crash injuries

Family and friends gathered for wake services Thursday night for a Shoreham-Wading River High School student who died after a car crash.

Melissa Marchese, 18, and two classmates were involved in a crash while turning onto Route 25A. They were on their way to an award ceremony at the high school.

A wake service for Marchese was held at Branch Funeral Home Thursday night, with additional services to be held there Friday afternoon and night.

Her funeral is Saturday morning at St. Mark's Church in Shoreham.
