Police: Woman, baby injured by falling tree limb

A woman and her 6-month-old baby were injured by a falling tree limb, according to police.
The incident happened along Lincoln Avenue in Chatham Friday afternoon.
Police say that a 46-year-old woman was walking home from church when the tree limb fell on her and her baby. Police say that she suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The baby was also hurt, but is expected to be OK.
Neighbors say that this is the first time they have heard of something like this happening in the area.
"During one of the snowstorms last season there were many branches that came down and fell on the houses and did some damage. But I think I am hearing for the first time that it actually hurt someone,” one neighbor told News 12 New Jersey.
It was not immediately clear why the branch broke off of the tree.
