Man wanted for throwing fire extinguisher, garbage on subway tracks
Police say a man has thrown garbage and debris on to the subway tracks at numerous stations in the borough.
Christmas lights and a fire extinguisher are just some of what police say the suspect has been throwing on the tracks.
While no one has been hurt, police say they want to find him before someone does get hurt.
The NYPD released new surveillance video of the suspect as he walked into one of the stations, and then eventually jumped the turnstile.
The most recent attack was Sunday at the 9th Street subway station. Police say he threw Christmas lights onto the tracks.
Last Wednesday around 2 a.m., police say he put a fire extinguisher, a bag of concrete mix and a piece of metal on the rails of the R line at Union Street. Investigators say when the train ran over the fire extinguisher it sent the fumes into the station, but no one was hurt.
About 40 minutes later, police say he threw a shovel on to the tracks at the 45th Street station
Officials say they believe he is the same person who threw debris on to the northbound rails of the train line inside the Atlantic Barclays Center station on May 9 just after midnight.
Police tell News 12 he was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
