Police say one man is dead and two others were injured in a shooting in Roosevelt overnight Sunday.
The incident happened on West Fulton Avenue just after midnight. Police say they got two Shot Spotter notifications, then received a call about a man with a gun, and then received another call about a disturbance.
News 12 is told when officers arrived at the scene, they discovered three men had been shot.
Police say a 30-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have not confirmed the man's identity.
A 26-year-old man was also shot in the knee, and a 21-year-old man was shot in the lower back. They were hospitalized, and officials say their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police are searching for the gunman and have not made any arrests at this time.
Investigators say there was a party underway in the area at the time with a lot of pedestrian traffic, and they are working to determine if the party is linked to the shooting. The shooter is believed to have arrived in a vehicle, and a verbal dispute led to gunfire, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
