Long Beach City Council tabled a vote Tuesday night on its proposed $97.6 million budget.

The proposal comes with a 7.9% tax hike. But what bothered residents at the meeting more was that city officials did not provide the public with errata sheets beforehand. An errata sheet contains any amendments that have been made to budget.

City Council President Anthony Eramo says he thinks the process has been fair.

Listening to calls from the public, the council did unanimously decide to table the vote until they can hold another meeting and make available to the public any changes in the budget. Residents like Roy Lester say it had to be done.

City Council has until the end of May to hold another meeting and vote. If officials miss that deadline, they say the proposed budget would go into effect by default anyway.
