Multiple pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in Freeport Monday afternoon, police say.
Authorities say the incident occurred at South Long Beach Avenue and West Merrick Road, where four people were struck by a vehicle that drove on to a sidewalk and crashed.
Among those hurt were two children, one of whom was air-lifted to a hospital, police say.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
There is no word on the conditions of the victims or what the driver has been charged with.
