Fleet Week is in full swing Sunday at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
The event includes activities like a fun run, military demonstrations, a helicopter landing, a fast rope demonstration, a Navy dive, and a Coast Guard search and rescue demonstration.
The ships sailed up the Hudson River into New York City on Wednesday.
The first Fleet Week was held in 1935 in San Diego and featured a special telephone introduction by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The first New York City Fleet Week was held in 1982 and in 1988, the public could go on board the ships.
The Fleet Forces Band will be performing along with the U.S. Marine Corps Battle Caller Detachment, the Silent Drill Platoon and the Coast Guard's Silent Drill Team.
About 2,600 service members are at the Fleet Week event.
The fun run kicked off at 10:30 a.m.
