Police say a fight may have lead to a deadly drive-by shooting near the Mirage Gentlemen's Lounge in East Farmingdale that left a man dead and a woman injured.
According to Suffolk County police, a 2017 Mercedes-Benz was driving westbound on Route 109, near the Route 110 entance ramp, when another vehicle rolled up and its occupants opened fire, with bullets tearing through the car. Two of the six people inside the Mercedes were struck, including a 27-year-old woman from Westbury who was shot in the leg. Frank Myers, a 33-year-old from Wyandanch who was riding in the back seat, was killed.
The Mercedes was found about 2 miles away, at the Sunoco gas station on Hempstead Turnpike and Merritts Road. The four people inside the Mercedes who weren't shot asked the station clerk to call police and ran away.
Back near the Mirage, crime scene investigators laid down evidence markers and used a metal detector to try to find shell casings.
The shots were fired around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the shooting was not random and that they're investigating whether it started with an argument at the strip club.
No arrests have been made. Police have not said what the argument may have been about.
Suffolk police ask anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
