Hidden Past podcast: Endangered Historic Places - listen here

Posted: Updated:

Danielle Campbell speaks with Sarah Kautz from the nonprofit Preservation Long Island. The group makes it their business to save Long Island's historic sites and provides direct support and technical assistance to individuals and groups engaged in local preservation efforts. Every two years, Preservation Long Island puts together a list of historic Long Island structures that are in danger of disappearing.

Danielle and Sarah discuss two places on the list:  The Summer Club Clubhouse on Fire Island and Merrick Gables, a 1922 planned community on the South Shore that became a movie star mecca.
