DA: Brookhaven town employee stole 510 gallons of diesel fuel

Investigators say the stolen fuel was worth just over $1,000.

A longtime Brookhaven town employee is accused of stealing hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel from the town.
Prosecutors say 50-year-old Daniel Curtin stole 510 gallons of diesel since August of 2015 while working as a foreman for Brookhaven's Highway Department.
Investigators say the stolen fuel was worth just over $1,000.
Curtin, who has been a Brookhaven town employee for about 29 years, is charged with grand larceny.
He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
