Dozens of veterans who served in Vietnam, Korea and WWII were honored Sunday at a special ceremony in Ridge.

Local author Mary Ann Fox documented the stories of 63 of the Long Island veterans in her book "Proudly We Served."

Fox says she started interviewing veterans almost a year ago, and now she’s sharing her finished product.

The book details the accounts of the veterans. Many of them are Bronze star and even Purple Heart recipients.

Some of those veterans who passed away were represented by their widows.
