An event Sunday raised funds for the family of an NYPD officer from Long Island who was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Belt Parkway in Queens.
Members of the Outriders Law Enforcement Motorcycle club organized the fourth annual Unity Ride charity event in memory of NYPD Highway Patrol Officer Marc St. Arromand.
The 16-year veteran of the force died in a motorcycle crash on the morning of April 11 as he was on his way to work.
The 42-year-old was riding his Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control and struck a guardrail on the Belt Parkway in Queens, not far from the Nassau border.
St. Arromand leaves behind a wife, Cecilia, and five children who range in age from 11 to a newborn baby.
The Outriders organized the ride from Farmingville to Rocky Point Ale House to pay tribute to their friend and raise money for the family he left behind.
