Police made an explosive discovery while responding to a 911 call in Lynbrook.
Lynbrook police say they were originally called to a Harvard Avenue home Monday afternoon after 43-year-old Marc Solomon's mother called 911.
According to court documents, Solomon was arrested after police found he had more than $10,000 worth of fireworks in the garage and a second location, a storage facility on Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.
Police say Solomon was cooperative when they arrived and told them about the illegal explosives. Neighbors called the Solomons a nice family.
Solomon was arraigned in Hempstead court on charges that include possession of explosives without a license and illegal storage of explosives. He's due back in court April 25.
