A pair of Huntington residents is doing their part to keep Long Island beaches clean.
Barbara Goetz and Peter Calcandy walk a 5-mile stretch of the Huntington Bay shoreline every day, picking up trash along the way, regardless of the weather.
They say their cleanups are about keeping their community "beautiful." Most of what they pick up is plastic.
A small portion of trash collected over a two-week period is on display at the Huntington Public Library this week, serving as an example of the impact two people can make.
