Mayor Bill de Blasio has released the Better Buses Action Plan, which will identify locations and projects across New York City that will help increase bus speeds as part of the 2019 OneNYC strategic plan.
De Blasio announced his goal of improving bus speeds by 2020 earlier this year. Potential improvements on Livingston Street from Boerum Place to Flatbush Avenue include adding a westbound turn arrow and signal phase to help turning buses, refreshing bus lanes, extending bus lane hours and upgrading bus lanes to protected bus lanes with physical barriers to prevent illegal parking and standing.

Many people who use buses in the area frequently tell News 12 they're excited to hear about these changes.

To increase mobility in the city, de Blasio says he's also pushing for more off-hour deliveries. The city plans to spend $1 million on outreach to businesses in Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn to encourage them to participate in the off-hour delivery program.
