Couple accused of trying to scam grandma out of more than $7K

Police say they have arrested a Queens couple for allegedly trying to rip off a grandma by phone in Minnesota.
According to police, the couple told her that her grandson was in trouble with the police.
The 84-year-old was told to buy $2,700 in gift cards and give the suspects the codes.
A few days later, the woman was instructed to mail $5,100 to an address in Roosevelt.
Nassau Police arrested the couple when they went to pick up the package.
