An anonymous email threatens "there will be trouble for sure" if Patchogue's upcoming Alive After Five street festival is allowed to happen.

The email was sent to festival organizers and others in the LGBTQ community, decrying the pride theme and calling it "a platform for homosexual perversion and filth."

David Kilmnick, of the LGBT Network, was specifically mentioned in the email.

"This not only attacks the LGBT community, not only attacks myself, but it attacks all of us," he says.

Kilmnick adds that there's no room for hate on Long Island.

The first Alive After Five event is on June 27. Officials say there are no plans to cancel or change the event's pride theme. They say the attention may even make it grow larger.

Organizers say extra security will be on hand for the event and that the anonymous email was sent to Suffolk County police for review.

The letter comes on the heels of a transphobic Instagram post by The Cliffton bar in Patchogue. The bar's owner removed the photo and apologized in a separate post. A rally against the bar was held across the street from it last Friday.
