Police: Woman grabbed while jogging in Hempstead Lake State Park

A 21-year-old woman reported to police that she was grabbed by a man while she was jogging Friday afternoon in Hempstead Lake State Park.

A 21-year-old woman reported to police that she was grabbed by a man while she was jogging Friday afternoon in Hempstead Lake State Park.
The incident allegedly happened on the bridle trail, south of the pedestrian bridge.
State park police say the woman kicked the man and was able to break free.
Police were searching for the culprit in and around the park. They describe him as a white or Hispanic male in his late 50s to early 60s, standing about 6 feet tall with a thin build, short gray hair, a scruffy beard, freckles and large glasses. He wore at the time gray sweat pants, a black jacket and gray sneakers.
