One Suffolk County school district could be facing some major bus cuts.
According to Newsday, Wyandanch school leaders are asking for more than a million dollars’ worth of transportation cuts.
They say that would help avoid the risk of a $3.7 million budget deficit, a large tax hike or slashes to student programs.
A new state report faults district officials for failing to close a growing budget gap over the past two school years.
