CALVERTON -

Dozens of kids braved frigid waters Saturday to help support athletes in the Special Olympics.

The “Polar Plunge” was held at Splish Splash in Calverton. It helped raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics of New York.

Organizers say the $35,000 raised will help cover the cost for athletes to train and compete.
