A federal judge declared a mistrial Wednesday in the trial of a suspected MS-13 gang associate.
A juror alleged jury misconduct in the trial of Jose Suarez, the alleged getaway driver in the 2017 Central Islip deli slaying of Esteban Alvarado-Bonilla.
Details of the misconduct allegations were not immediately available.
The jury started deliberating late Tuesday afternoon. Prosecutors say the gunman, who already pleaded guilty, thought the victim was a rival gang member.
A female deli worker was also shot but survived.
