EAST ROCKAWAY -

A home health aide from East Rockaway is accused of stealing from her employer.

Police say Nancy Cook, 45, stole the money little by little, writing more than 100 checks to herself from the account of the person she was hired to care for.

According to police, Cook forged signatures on the checks totaling approximately $31,000 from September 2018 to January 2019 and cashed them.

Cook was arrested by detectives and charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument.
